10% - PPDO Representative May represent the PPDO-ES department at meetings and conferences involving professional organizations, University, state and federal levels of authority in matters relating to engineering design considerations and financial requirements. Provides code interpretations for building, legal, or regulatory codes related to their discipline. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field. Minimum seven years of civil engineering experience.
Minimum five years of responsible design work. Advanced knowledge associated with independently performing the full range of professional engineering work. Demonstrated experience and comprehensive knowledge of Geotechnical, Environmental, Structural, Transportation, Water Resources, and Construction Engineering subfields. Ability to manage with general guidance all phases of design and construction projects, including programming, budgeting, design, preparation of construction documents, bidding, construction administration and closeout. LEED AP Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) or Professional Transportation Planner (PTP) SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check. Must possess a valid license to drive in the state of California. Professional Engineering (PE) license in Civil Engineering in specialty areas related to Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering. Ability to perform work in a rugged physical environment and inclement weather with challenging infrastructure requirements.
Ability to do occasional work in confined spaces such as attics and trenches while bending, stooping and/or kneeling with the possibility of being exposed to live electrical circuits and machinery.
