Responsibilities for this internship position are: Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman - Military Internship Program (Do D Skill Bridge) utilizing the Do DI guidance for Skill Bridge.
During this program the service member will be on-site at his or her host company performing an individual internship in an entry to mid-level career type role. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program. Goals - Provide transitioning service members fellowship-style job skills training during the last portion(s) of their military commitment.
This program is specifically designed to offer internships that result in the potential to transition to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Interns will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC. Objectives - Service Members who complete the Intern program will be highly-trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission " Defining Possible" on Day 1. While this position will be remote, the ideal candidate will reside in the Midwest due to supplier site locations. What you will do:
Perform inspection of components and assemblies. Monitor assigned supplier performance utilizing metrics. Monitor supplier recovery action plans and proactively identify potential gaps.
Support and/or manage special projects as required. Work with supplier counterpart on resolution of supplier quality issues through root cause corrective actions and ensure effectiveness. Report out to management and stakeholders on root cause and corrective actions. Drive lessons learned and best practices across other product centers. Awareness of AS9100 and AS9102 requirements when dealing with suppliers related to handling of root cause corrective action for identified defects, first articles and product
line variations. Evaluates supplier-non-conformances, negative performance trends and failures and determine the root cause and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Support production readiness reviews, risk-based supplier backssments (RBATs), and supplier enhanced audits (SEAs). Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance. Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of backssing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures. Conducts product and process verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues.
Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status and risks. Routinely coordinates technical issues with various programs and customers. Basic Qualifications BS degree in STEM related field 9+ years of relevant experience; MS Degree 7+ years of relevant experience.
