manage a multidisciplined team (currently 11 reports including Engineers, Technicians, Machinists, and Production Support). Manage Industrial Engineering Team and Core Functions. Manage inventory, supply, consumption, and cost of all welding materials. Ensure critical spare parts are identified and stocked.
Define and implement safe and efficient material handling solutions to support production processes. Work to ensure current production processes are efficient and safe. Design and develop process flows for new product introductions. Coordinate and manage Continuous Improvement Initiatives. Coordinate and manage Kaizen Events. Determine root cause and implement interim and long-term
corrective actions for production process related quality issues. Ensure all CNC machining work areas are safe for operators and CNC machining centers are setup and tooled for safe operation.
Ensure proper CNC machine tooling and gauging is defined and supplied to operators. Define, perform, and document CNC operator skill audits. Evaluate CNC machine crashes and determine root cause and countermeasures. Ensure proper tooling and fixturing is defined and allocated accordingly. Manage CNC machine tooling costs and performance. Ensure all CNC machine reference documentation is maintained and readily available to the operators. Ensure redundant capabilities of critical machining functions.
Identify high risk aging CNC machines and countermeasures. Define and implement welding processes.
Ensure proper weld tooling and gauging is defined and supplied to welders. Ensure weld audits are performed and documented at the defined frequency. Ensure reference documentation for welding process is readily available to the operators and maintained. Develop and administer welder training courses. Maintain welding machine calibrations; training records, welder certifications, and welder skill matrix; welding standard compliance. Ensure adequate welding PPE, weld flash protection, and proper signage for work areas and hot parts is provided. Maintain program matrix and backups; troubleshoot robot weld issues.
Ensure proper process tooling and gauging is defined and supplied to operators. Ensure all production processes are designed for operator safety. Ensure all tooling and fixturing is in good working condition and have a home. Design, manufacture, and procure NPI process fixturing and tooling. Implement NOMUDA visual factory on production floor. Job Requirements : Must have a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a closely related Engineering field. Must have 5 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer with manufacturing experience.
The 5 years of experience must include experience with manufacturing processes including CNC Turning/Milling, Welding, Fabrication, and Painting; lean manufacturing principles including elimination of waste Continuous Improvement, Production Efficiency, and JIT; and engineering functions including Document control, Calculations, Report Writing, PLM & ERP systems, Validation Testing, Project Budgeting & Cap Ex Requests, and Capacity Analysis. Position headquartered in Wilmington, NC but eligible to work from anywhere in the U. S. Must travel 5% domestically.
