Ensures national and local code compliance. Maintains, interprets and applies the CPS Energy Electric Service Standards. Maintains Electric Meter Wiring Standards. Coordinates special projects as assigned, provides project estimates and budget inputs and additional duties as required.
Tasks and Responsibilities Ensures Code Compliance for CPS Energy by maintaining, interpreting and applying the CPS Energy Electric Service Standards Manual and maintaining the Electric Meter Wiring Standards Manual.
Conducts root cause analysis and makes written recommendations. Develops training materials and delivers presentations. Conducts job site visits for the purpose of collecting data for decision-making. Researches, purchases and tests equipment used in the measurement of electricity. Handles and coordinates special projects as assigned. Provides project estimates and budget inputs. Communicates and interacts effectively with other CPS departments and customers. Review for approval
propose Distributive Generation system submittals and commission installed systems.
Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Skills Minimum Knowledge and Abilities Experience in electric metering/service preferably in the public sector or utility industry Preferred Qualifications Familiar with power analysis equations. Some knowledge of the National Electric Safety Codes. Some college hours in electrical engineering or circuit analysis or field experience equivalent. Some experience in 1-line electrical design or review. Competencies Demonstrating Initiative Communicates Effectively Using Math Displaying Technical Expertise Adapting to Others Learning Quickly Minimum Education High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Required Certifications Working Environment Indoor work, operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motion.
Use of personal computing equip, phone, multi-functioning printer & calculator. Ability to travel to & from meetings, training sessions or other busi-related events. Physical Demands Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
