The Department has over 400 undergraduate and 300 graduate students. Both EE undergraduate and graduate programs support students to obtain professional experience while taking classes. In conjunction with their classes, many students work as Instructional Student Assistants and Teaching Associates in the department, and EE interns in the Silicon Valley firms. The Electrical Engineering Department website is at www. sjsu. edu/ee/. Brief Description of Duties Lecturers are expected to teach their courses effectively; to maintain appropriate office hours in accordance with University Policy; and to cooperate with the

department in the peer-review and course backssment processes.

Lecturers are strongly encouraged to seek guidance from the Department Chair for clarification of the university policies and department practices with respect to grading, testing, textbooks, office hours, curriculum goals, disability accommodations, academic integrity, etc. All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the entire semester or term, in the mode assigned and listed in the schedule of classes (i. e. asynchronous, synchronous, bichronous, in-person, or hybrid). All Faculty shall organize all their classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS), the official LMS provided for the SJSU community.

All classes at SJSU, whether online or not, must be anchored in the Canvas platform to ensure faculty-student connection in a common space as all students are directed to log in to Canvas for online access to their classes. You will have access to this system prior to the semester start date. Required Qualifications A Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with at least 5 years of significant and relevant professional experience is required to teach undergraduate-level courses. A Ph D or Sc D degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a closely related discipline is required to teach graduate-level courses. Knowledge of the subject matter of the discipline to which the individual is assigned. Evidence of satisfactory achievement in previous academic work. Applicants should demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching and other comparable experience.
