Responsibilities: RFIC Design Engineer: responsible for the design and development of RFICs for mobile handset applications. The candidate will assume the role of technical lead of a group of analog/RF IC design experts from multiple locations in the development of cellular-band ICs that transmit, receive, and/or switch signals to or from antennas. The candidate will independently interface with design management and module design teams to down select circuit architecture, create detailed specifications, report design progress, and collect, track, and resolve any performance and circuit design issues.
Qualifications: The candidate must be experienced in transistor-level LNA design in Si-based process technology. He or she must understand basic device physics, develop and use advanced linear and nonlinear models or simulation techniques, translate between the model, simulation, and physical implementation, and measure the performance of a device. Knowledge in RF and microwave engineering is required to optimize the RF performance of the RFIC.
A plus would be familiarity with Analog bandgaps, op-amps, regulators, precision current mirrors, basic logic synthesis, device matching, layout techniques, ESD, and latch up. This job also requires experience in simulation CAD tools, as well as analog and RF circuit test characterization techniques and equipment. The candidate must have good communication skills, be able to break down complex problems, set priorities, report progress, execute to a schedule, and have strong people skills. #LI-MS1 Education and Skill Requirements: The candidate should possess one of the following degrees and years of related industry experience: BS + 12 years or MS + 10 years.
Proficiency is required in Cadence or ADS IC design tools, with experience in HFSS, EMX, or another electromagnetic simulator a strong plus. Also required is hands-on experience with lab measurements and characterization equipment. The typical base pay range for this role across the U. S. is currently USD $136,800 - $271,500 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.
S.
