that creates positive impact and a sustainable future for all. Be a part of something BIG! The Senior Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure (Storage & Backup) is responsible for the Operations of Storage & Backup in our virtualized environment in the on premises Private Cloud.
The successful candidate will help in the transformation of Singtel legacy infrastructure into a modern, automated, cloud centric infrastructure, with high operational efficiency and low downtime The candidate will assist in the transition of legacy infrastructure to new cloud infrastructure according to the TI Infrastructure Platforms Roadmap, and help in the efforts to migrate existing solutions to our new Data Centres.
The candidate will have the storage and backup operations as his primary responsibility. By working closely with his/her colleagues, the Cloud Infrastructure Specialist ensures that the Cloud solutions make the best use of the technology platforms to meet the business requirements.
In addition to the non-functional requirements, the solutions are delivered at optimal cost using the appropriate technology platforms. Make an Impact by: Design, Implement and maintain the infrastructures covering on-premises Datacentres Design, Implement and maintain Storage and Backup infrastructure in covering on-premises datacentres, VMware or Azure stack solutions. Playing a major role in the operations
of the Storage and Backup infrastructure, including outsourced vendor management if any Making sure that all Storage and Backup infrastructure patches are up to date and infrastructure is current and resilient.
Work with Change Management to propose and implement changes, especially for Data Center migration and ongoing quality, efficiency and resiliency requirements Ensure that operational SLA’s are met, and crafting meaningful reports and metrics to track progress of current infrastructure, including capacity planning and operational improvements Ensure operations are in compliance with security and best practices adopted by the industry Document and communicate Enterprise Infrastructure processes and standards Ensure solution compliance and integration with enterprise architecture and Infosec policy for Infrastructure and Security systems by reviewing and advising on new and existing Information Technology projects Providing advice and guidance to management during planning phases to ensure that non-functional requirements are included in the overall specifications Providing advice and guidance to all areas of IT and Business Management, analysts, planners, designers and developers on all aspects of compute infrastructure To ensure that work meets all related engineering, planning, and operational standards Create and document the solution using the existing Infrastructure Standard Platforms and Design Patterns Act as a subject matter expert in matters pertaining to one of either the Compute or Storage towers in the organization Skills for Success: Degree in computer science/ Information Technology, Industry certification 8-10 years of experience working and familiar with corporate infra operations in storage and backup.
Familiar with security hygiene and best practices, compute/storage operations. Able to articulate well on proposed design to stakeholder.
Experience in Enterprise Storage (Dell EMC, Huawei, Hitachi) design, deployment and operations in a large enterprise environment Experience in Enterprise Backup solutions design and operations Experience in bash, Powershell and other scripting for operational efficiency Experience in managing day to day operations of Enterprise IT infrastructure, including the change management process, risk and impact backssment Experience in performing VM migration on databases like Oracle, My SQL, and MSSQL would be advantageous. Ability to direct project design and planning activities associated with complex or large sized network infrastructure development projects.
