Position Summary : Utilize mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering to design, prototype, and implement automated machinery for in-house use. Develop high-accuracy inspection modules for new and old machines using machine vision. Program PLCs and other various embedded controllers to autonomously process parts and
materials. Use CAD to design, prototype, and implement physical modules for use on production machines. Design, build, and maintain electrical enclosures. Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to develop and maintain design and process requirements.
Generate, maintain, and execute project plans for building new machines and improving old machines. Perform engineering evaluations and qualifications to verify and validate machines. Create documentation detailing the design, build instructions, and work instructions of machines. Job Requirements: Education: B. S. or greater in Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or equivalent. Experience: Two plus
years of experience preferred. General Requirements: Experience designing mechatronics systems Experience with embedded systems and hardware-software integration Experience with low-level programming languages such as C, Rust, Verilog, or any assembly language.
Experience with version control software such as git. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or programmable automation controllers (PACs) and their programming languages (ladder logic, structured text, function block diagrams, etc. ). Experience with Omron PLCs is a plus. Familiarity with machine vision hardware (lights, cameras, lenses) and software (image filtering, object detection, measuring and gauging).
Experience with Keyence vision controllers is a plus. Familiarity with mechanical CAD using Solid Works, Auto CAD, or similar software. Familiarity with circuit design and general electrical engineering concepts. Logical trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Detail-oriented. Good organizational skills. Fast learner, self-motivated, and accomplishment driven. Ability to work productively in a small-team setting, and occasionally work solo. Skilled in use of MS Office computer applications. Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report.
Physical Attributes Required: Sitting, standing, walking, and computer use up to 8 hours/day. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills. Physical ability to lift 25+ pounds.
