lightning performance and grounding calculations/studies. Lead and perform calculations for required electrical clearances based on NESC or other applicable codes and resources. Lead projects involving future plans for major transmission line design projects.
Make critical decisions and recommendations that have an important effect on major electrical projects and programs. Lead in the communication of the interpretation and application of necessary NERC, FERC and regional requirements and standards. Manage the resolution of transmission line design issues encountered during projects and present solutions to the project team members. Responsible for technical/design success on projects.
Provide solutions and expertise to clients and industry contacts. Review transmission equipment vendor drawings. Interface with suppliers, clients, other engineering disciplines, detailers, and designers.
Lead/Perform the quality review process, including the feasibility or soundness of proposed plans. Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff. Implement training on transmission line design assignments. Ensure compliance with company site safety policies. Telecommuting is allowed up to 30 days per year. or foreign equivalent, in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a directly related field plus seven (7) years of electric overhead transmission line consulting experience.
Requires Professional Engineering License (PE). Must have seven (7) years of experience in each of the following: Modeling of existing and new transmission lines in PLS-CADD and Method 4 structures models in PLS-Pole or PLS-Tower, including creating new models and criteria files to comply with client standards and industry/regional as well as working with existing models. Developing non-standard transmission line hardware assemblies and specifications and coordinating with others to produce hardware drawings.
Interpreting and developing design loads and load cases for engineered steel structures, including appropriate application of load factors and guidelines in ASCE 74. Experience with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel and Teams, including managing large datasets and preparing project estimates in Microsoft Excel and preparing project design schedules in Microsoft Project or Excel. Leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members. Performing quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications, enforcing quality processes and compliance with quality standards.

$161,949- $172,000 The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
