a creative, driven, and highly motivated Engineering Director to join our team! Summary: The Engineering Director is responsible for the engineering department. This position has responsibility for department budgets, staffing levels, department planning, final design approval, allocation of resources, department organization, and other department activities.
Responsibilities also include staff evaluation, salary planning, performance evaluation, employee retention, and staff training. This position is a key member of the senior leadership team, which establishes policy and market direction and assists management in strategic planning. Responsibilities: Develop department budgets, staffing
plans, training programs, salary employee plans, and employee recruiting and retention programs. Working with staff, developing engineering standards, procedures, and work instructions.
Monitor project schedules and budgets to meet business plans. Work with marketing for the development of new machines and products. Work with manufacturing and assembly to develop cost-effective designs. Work with Customer service to support machine installations and warranty and improve the reliability and maintainability of machine design. Responsible for the quality of the engineering work. Responsible for final approval of machine shipment. Advise senior management on new technologies and their future
impact. Some travel is required for this position. Work with senior management and staff to develop strategic plans for the division’s future.
Qualifications & Experience: Must have demonstrated strong people management skills. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to plan and manage large complex projects. Fimalirty with Lean/Six Sigma methodology Must be able to communicate with customers and top management. Must be familiar with geometric dimensioning and tolerance per ANSI Y14.5. Must be a leader who can direct and motivate a technical staff. Education: Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar discipline.
10+ years experience in a supervisory or management position in the field of engineering in a manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Must be able to access and navigate each department at Ingersoll’s facilities.
