Job Summary PSEG is looking for an Intern for the Distribution Automation Team (T&D Emergency Preparedness Department) This job involves working as an engineer configuring systems, checking communications to remote devices, network programming, maintenance to the DSCADA system, supporting the deployment of new equipment. This position will be In-person. Job Responsibilities Assignments will include working alongside professionals in the following areas: Daily responsibilities include
checking the Distribution Automation System and verifying communications to distribution equipment, repeaters, fiber links and ethernet channels.
Supporting the process of coordinating and issuing of repairs of equipment with various areas of the transmission and distribution business unit. Interacting with the following departments: Electric Operations OH Lines Radio & Telecom Reliability General Shops Job Specific Qualifications Required Education/Skills: The successful candidate(s) must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.
Candidates must have completed freshman level course work for consideration. Preferred : 3.0 GPA Knowledge of Networking / TCP/IP Software scripting/programming and communication systems. Selected individual will be motivated and have good communication and writing skills. All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no medical benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week over the duration of the summer internship. We are targeting currently enrolled/matriculating students that are able to commute to their designated work location as needed.
