Position Summary: Flexible work arrangements, including virtual/hybrid work locations, are an integral part of the School of Medicine’s Working Forward initiative. As such, this position’s work location is designated as virtual. Please note that the designated work location is subject to change based on the unit’s business needs. The Department of Psychiatry is seeking a full-time fixed-term faculty member at the rank of Clinical Instructor to work in the Intensive Outpatient Program.

Treatment services include clinical backssments, group therapy and some individual/family therapy to patients who are being referred after a psychiatric hospitalization and still needing more intensive services than traditional therapy or patients being referred by community providers in order to avoid psychiatric hospitalization. Provide short-term therapeutic services and case management services along with medication management services provided by a psychiatrist.

Duties will include completing comprehensive clinical backssments, developing treatment plans and facilitating groups and individual sessions. Collaborate with patient and family and others involved in patient’s care. Educate family members on available resources. Document all clinical work thoroughly and on required forms or in the EMR within established time frames. Promptly complete patient eligibility, data entry, referral and encounter forms as appropriate. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Applicants must have a Master’s degree Social Work, Counseling or a relevant field and have a North Carolina licensure to practice Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience: Experience working with adolescents and adults in group settings.

Experience providing leadership and psychiatric services as part of a team is also preferred. Additionally, it is desired that the successful candidate will have strong clinical and diagnostic skills. Campus Security Authority Responsibilities: Not Applicable.
