Community College's Liberal Arts and Sciences division is currently seeking an adjunct instructor for Spanish courses in our World Languages department. The Spring offering will be conducted in the traditional classroom, face-to-face modality. The available SPN201 course, Intermediate Spanish I - meets on our Sugar Grove, IL campus on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 11:00 am - 12:15 pm.
The term runs from January 16th, 2024 - May 10, 2024. We are only currently accepting applications from candidates who are available to teach in person on the days and times indicated above. Adjunct faculty members are responsible for delivering curriculum, providing instruction, and performing student learning
backssment. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively use instructional and classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Courses at Waubonsee Community College may be offered in various delivery modes including, but not limited to, face-to-face, asynchronous online, synchronous online, hybrid, and flex. Responsibilities Designing syllabi, lessons, activities, assignments, and backssments to meet the established course description as well as program, course, and college learning outcomes and/or objectives while addressing each student's needs as diverse learners. Meeting all college deadlines for submission of attendance, grades and data collection
for backssment of student learning. Incorporating learning-centered principles and concepts while motivating students to actively participate in their educational experiences.
Integrating instructional and classroom technology (if applicable) appropriately and effectively to deliver and enhance teaching and learning. Working collaboratively with professional colleagues to serve the needs of students and the community. Modeling professionalism with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Master's degree in Spanish Linguistics or a Masters Degree in a related field with 18 graduate hours in Spanish. Preferred Experience Teaching Spanish, or a related field, at a Community College or Vocational/Technical institution.
Teaching traditionally underserved populations. Incorporating technology and multimedia applications into teaching and learning process. Teaching in multiple instructional modalities. Utilizing Learning Management Systems.
