Its enterprise-level rate engine, block management tools, and underwriting application enhance financial management, improve sales channel responsiveness, and increase operational agility. As an Advisory Services Sr Consultant, you will work directly with our payer
clients on Step Wise implementations, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, and testing. Ideal candidates will have a background in commercial healthcare underwriting or actuarial pricing combined with a strong technical aptitude and a desire to solve complex problems using cutting-edge software tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must; this is a direct client-facing role. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U. S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: Work with the Step Wise software to configure rating algorithms, factor tables, and proposal outputs Work with the Step
Wise software to configure user experiences (including health plan sales and underwriting users) Work with the Step Wise software to create business process / workflow automation Use Excel and SQL-based systems to solve clients' business problems Present solution design and configurations to peers and clients Become a trusted advisor to our clients by: Learning, understanding, and adhering to Step Wise configuration best practices Understanding our clients' business and place within the market Being transparent, accountable, and following through on commitments Communicating project status and risks often and early Acting as a main point of contact both during a project and after implementation is complete Assist with Step Wise end-user and super-user training Assist with project scoping and requirements gathering Assist with writing contracts and developing pricing models Understand industry issues, changes, and potential impacts and opportunities for the Step Wise consulting team Direct segments of work and manage deliverables Be capable of meeting multiple project deadlines with minimal supervision Serve as a subject matter expert for others Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, is tactful and listens well Work with less structured, more complex issues You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
Required Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in quantitative discipline or equivalent experience 3+ years of experience working in commercial healthcare insurance 1+ years of experience healthcare rating systems development 1+ years of experience writing SQL queries Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel - including complex formulas and macros / VBA Preferred Qualifications: Experience working as an underwriter or actuary in commercial healthcare Experience working with the Step Wise Suite Familiarity with XML / JSON California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $85,000 to $167,300 per year.
