Manufacturing Procurement Consultant - Raw Materials (Americas) Work Location: Position can be located in any of these three locations: Greenfield, IN - Corporate Headquarters Fort Dodge, IA - Manufacturing Site Clinton, IN - Manufacturing Site Basic Responsibilities The Elanco Procurement team is responsible for sourcing goods and services in a way that adds value to the Elanco business.
The focus of the Internal MFG Procurement role will be to identify and establish sourcing opportunities in the
key categories at the Global Manufacturing site level including raw materials, excipients, solvents, fillers, and key ingredients used in the manufacturing of Elanco Products.
A key focus is to develop/maintain relationships with suppliers and to interface with our business partners within the Elanco Global Manufacturing network. The individual in this role will develop and maintain global market knowledge for raw materials as well as execute a strategy to support the manufacturing network within the Americas Regions. Knowledge of category management, enterprise risk management, the strategic sourcing process, and supplier management relations is the undercarriage of the Global Procurement
Team’s Source for Grown (S4G) transformation. This role will report to the Global Director of Internal Manufacturing and will interact globally the M&Q unit as well as other business units to provide an initiative-taking, engaged, value adding service to support the needs of the business.
The person in this position may do the following: Responsible for supporting the Global Elanco Manufacturing organization with a focus on items with an annual spend above $250,000 and lead the Raw Material Category Management for Americas region. The person in this role provides country-specific market intelligence to mitigate supply risk, gain competitive advantage and make better budget owners business decisions.
Partner with the Elanco Procurement Global Category Leaders for Manufacturing categories and drive productivity through the sourcing and value capture process. The position requires deep category, business, and industry knowledge of direct MRP categories such as raw materials, excipients, solvents, fillers, and key ingredients used in the manufacturing of Elanco Products. Act as a business partner, change agent and coach collaborative manufacturing site leaders and stakeholder to fully understand Elanco’s business needs and ensure buy-in and successful implementation of Procurement solutions.
Responsible for leading, identifying and establishing complex local and global projects through the sourcing process from strategy development, risk mitigation, and supplier selection through contract negotiation and ongoing supplier and key stakeholder relationship management with other functions including Quality, Regulatory, TSMS, Supply Chain, and Logistics for site-specific purchases in the Manufacturing network to save total cost of ownership and maximize profitability. Drive category strategies in alignment with key business partners that drive continuous improvement to lower the total acquisition cost for raw materials.
Monitor and report on purchase price variance (PPV) and purchase price progressions (PPP) as required to meet or exceed business plan for all sites within the network. Ensure that all activities relating to category management, sourcing and contracting events are planned, scheduled, resourced, and executed in a timely and visible manner. Develop/execute annually the Enterprise Risk Management program including supplier risk evaluation and contracting to leverage Elanco’s business continuity plans. Basic Requirements Either a Bachelor’s Degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or chemistry or at least 5 years of Procurement or Strategic Sourcing experience with a large multi-national company At least 5 year of experience sourcing large dollar amount manufacturing categories of spend Fluent in English.
