The Position Supervises a utilities maintenance team & ensures safe, effective operations while maintaining a high level of focus on quality. Coordinates with internal stakeholders, contractors, engineers & other
providers/vendors to drive the success of the manufacturing process.
Relationships Reports to Manager, FUSE. Essential Functions Manage team, to include interviewing/hiring talent, providing coaching, mentoring, career development guidance & performance management addressing performance/behavioral & related disciplinary action Prioritize maintenance activities & ensures preventive maintenance of mechanical & control components to minimize impact to production Serve as primary interface between Utilities Maintenance Operations & Utilities Operations Develop training program for Utility Maintenance Systems & ensure all mandatory training requirements for the team are met Develop & maintain SOPs & ensures all documentation meets GMP requirements Oversee & support process equipment validation activities, to include implementation of upgrades & new projects Drive preventive maintenance execution process improvements Facilitate a productive, engaging & safe working environment Follow Standard Operating Procedures in the performance of duties Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties Other accountabilities, as assigned Physical Requirements Occasionally moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds within the facility using various body positions.
Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Ability to be on feet for up to a 12-hour shift. Corrected vision to 20/30. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to service equipment & can work atop elevated positions. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. May be required to work for short periods of time with respiratory protection. Development of People Supervisory, ensure that reporting personnel have Individual Development Plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process.
Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility. Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.
Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required Associate’s degree in engineering or related field of study from an accredited university preferred Minimum of two (2) years of utilities experience in a manufacturing organization required, medical manufacturing preferred Minimum of two (2) years of direct supervisory experience preferred Ability to read, write & understand complicated product documentation & standard operating procedures with attention to detail required Ability to utilize a computer, to include basic functions in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) required Experience with maintenance of Utilities Equipment, to include Electrical Systems up to Medium Voltage, Steam Generation, Compressed Air Generation, Refrigeration Systems, High Purity Water Systems, HVAC Systems, etc.
