As an Construction Materials Technician , you will have a company vehicle to perform the field testing and observations of construction materials on project sites. These tests you perform each day help ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
You will see construction projects from beginning to end, documenting the successful placement and use of soil, concrete, rebar, asphalt, aggregate, and other building materials. It is our job to make sure it is " built right" and at S&ME we take that responsibility very seriously. You will have the opportunity to obtain additional certifications to help

Working outside making an impact on the community around you by conducting field testing of construction materials (soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, etc. ) to ensure compliance with industry standards and/or project specifications Opportunity to learn each day on a variety of high profile and exciting projects across the construction industry Impacting each office by performing testing that contributes to our company's success Reviewing plans and specifications in preparation of field observations
on construction sites. Documenting field activities, observations, and testing results on projects.
Daily use of MetafieldĀ®, and/or other field and laboratory information management system. Calibrating field and laboratory equipment to industry codes and standards. Check out this Day in the Life video! /852819010 Required Qualifications: High school diploma/GED 2+ years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials or equivalent experience and an associate degree in a related field Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language Ability to routinely lift 40 to 50 lbs.
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to work and maneuver equipment, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground and around active construction sites Willingness to travel out-of-town for short duration assignments Ability to complete data entry into multiple software applicants on a smart device Preferred Certifications: American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I Strength Testing Technician Laboratory Technician International Code Council (ICC) Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils).
