The Construction Estimator (Sales) will continue to grow our business and increase our sales volume. Our ideal candidate is experienced in asphalt and/or concrete paving and patching with sales experience in the industry. Our Construction Estimator (Sales), will be expected to: Proactively seek out and acquire new business from utility districts, government agencies, commercial, residential,
and private contractors Generate new revenue by adding new contracted work and retain current customers Evaluate bid documents, construction blueprints, subcontractor and material quotes Analyze and compile data.
Prepare accurate cost estimates, including materials, labor, subcontractors and other resources Travel throughout the Portland Metro Area to attend pre-bid conferences, meet with customers on site, backss project scope and requirements, field measurements, and site visits Create formal proposals for bid submissions to customers Follow up on bid submissions and secure/review contracts Provide detailed project information to operations, supervisors, and field crews throughout the
duration of the project Manage customer projects to ensure deadlines and cost targets are met Build & maintain positive relationships, providing excellent customer service, with customers and subcontractors Assist the finance team with customer accounts and project documentation The ideal experienced Construction Estimator (Sales) will have the following: A Bachelor's degree preferably in construction management (or related discipline) 3+ years of experience in cost estimating with a sales-focused background Proven track record of acquiring new business and retaining current business Have a thorough understanding of how to accurately read construction blueprints/specifications Exceptional communication skills and customer focus approach Organized individual with strong project management skills committed to performing duties with detail and accuracy Proven ability to consistently meet or exceed deadline expectations Thorough understanding of MS Excel, Word and Outlook Knowledge and ability to regularly update Company CRM and project management systems to reflect interactions and job progress with new and existing customers Field knowledge in asphalt and/or concrete site work Why Choose AA Asphalting!
