Base Rate: $21.19 Position Purpose: Primary duties are as follows, responsible for the overall production on the shred production lines and attached equipment. Follow and maintain all related PCP’s and Critical control points.
Facilitate quick changeovers, assist in cleaning, emptying trays and tubs, and assisting where needed. Other duties may be assigned. This position may require coverage on other shifts or working other shifts due to vacations, etc. Work with Leaders and fellow partners to ensure Food Safety and Partner Safety. Understand and execute standard operating procedures relative to position. Perform all PCP and CCP checks required for
position. Follow reaction plan for Food Safety, Food Quality and customer requirement outages and by contacting TA/TL. Essential Functions: Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices and good housekeeping guidelines.
Must follow safety guidelines, wear designated Personal Protective Equipment, and meet OSHA safety requirements. Must be able to identify and understand customer requirements. Assist in machine setup and tear down. Must be able to read production orders and remain flexible to meet customer requirements. Tests metal detector once an hour a record data accordingly. Load keycel into hopper or dispensing device Change and/or rethread film and zipper. Must be able to calibrate
scales. Must be able to change and adjust shred heads, using safety lock out tag out procedures.
Assist in color, size and style changes, remove product, empty trays and tubs and assist in cleanup of equipment. Maintain Process Control Points, record data accordingly. Must be able to bend over, squat, twist and stoop during the performance of work duties. Keep area clean and free of debris. Assist with gathering materials for Bulk line. Ensures all areas are functioning as needed. Adjusts, operates, troubleshoots, and cleans Bulk line. Checks orders and assist with improving line efficiency.
Performs other line duties as needed to ensure line runs accordingly. Provides relief breaks for partners on that line. When line is not in operation, will be required to work in other areas such as Multipack, Cup line, Bar line or other areas of the plant as needed. Works closely with PS/TL on operations of the line and equipment. Work with Leaders and fellow partners to ensure Food Safety and Partner Safety.
Understand and execute standard operating procedures relative to position. Perform all PCP and CCP checks required for position. Follow reaction plan for Food Safety, Food Quality, and customer requirement outages and by contacting PS/TL.
Give feedback as needed to maintain teamwork of the line. Essential Functions: Ascertains the day's production supplies such as raw material(s), labels, Bags, and boxes. Make operator adjustment for proper equipment operation. Checks bag insertion, fold alignment, and case closing. Adjusts case former and closer as needed. Ensures proper closing of bulk cases and correct case stencil applied. Removes and cleans defined parts of machine and removes debris.
Runs line breaks, operators breaks and/or vacation. Reads production order or follows oral instructions to determine cheese type, style and packaging material required.
Sets specifications as indicated by the product, package size and production order. Operates code dating devices to ensure customer requirements are satisfied. Observes operation of all machines to detect and correct inconsistencies. Periodically train operators on other shifts in the operation and preventative maintenance of Bulk equipment. Understands duties and responsibilities for all positions on the line and can demonstrate proficiency in each of them. Assist in operations as needed including general sanitation and a portion of the QA responsibilities.
Ability and willingness to interact in a positive, professional, and team-oriented manner with people at many levels and in many roles. Communicate with operators and leaders of other lines such as bar and auto pal to ensure line runs efficiently, communicate issues to leader and others in area of responsibility.
