Title: Database Administrator Position Description: Responsible for SQL database environment which includes implementing and supporting these core infrastructure services. Responsible for assisting the product teams with new system design, implementation, and testing of mission-critical business systems.

Implement changes into development, Quality Assurance (QA), and production environments and monitor database and system performance. Resolve complex database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication and other distributed data issues. Confer with and advise development groups on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and methods. Responsible

for space management, backup, monitoring, and maintaining ongoing performance of databases and develop updates or modifications according to business needs.

Monitor and review the work of other database administrators to ensure correct practices and procedures. Resolve user-submitted requests for access, deployment, and troubleshooting assistance. Hybrid work schedule available with manager approval; must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Polaris' office located in Plymouth, MN. Position Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in computer science or related field, and 3 years of work experience in relational database management systems

or related. Additionally, a qualified applicant's experience must include the following: (1) Experience with the SQL language in order to write complex queries and scripts to manage and manipulate data; (2) Experience with database performance tuning techniques, including indexing, query optimization, and database configuration; (3) Experience with creating and managing backups of databases, and restoring them in the event of data loss; (4) Experience with database security best practices such as encryption, data masking, and database roles to implement them to protect sensitive data; (5) Experience monitoring database performance, identifying and diagnosing problems, and implementing solutions to keep the database running smoothly; (6) Experience with automation tools including SQL Compare, Idera Diagnostic Manager and scripting languages such as T-SQL and Power Shell, to automate routine database tasks and improve efficiency.
