is a highly visible, key role within the Company and the Finance function. This position currently offers a flexible working arrangement (currently 1-2 days per week in-office and remotely for the rest).
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Assisting in complex, non-routine accounting and reporting transactions and projects such as acquisitions and divestitures; exit and disposal activities; complex sales and procurement contracts; impairment analyses of goodwill and long-lived assets; revenue recognition; lease classification; and a variety of consolidation topics. Reviewing, revising, and refreshing the Finance Reference Library (accounting policies).
Working with business leaders and managers on corporate initiatives by providing technical accounting expertise and synthesizing accounting guidance into understandable terms.
Assisting in implementing accounting policies and procedures, including the research, coordination, and implementation of FASB ASUs and proposals as well as SEC rules. Reviewing the accounting and reporting of global pension liabilities, including coordination with worldwide controllers and external actuary specialists. Executing SOX internal controls owned by the Technical Accounting team. Engaging with external auditors to review and clear technical accounting matters. Interacting with a variety of global functions and departments, including Controllership, Corporate Development, Finance, Internal Audit, Internal Controls, Procurement, Sales, and Treasury on accounting policy questions.
The following is required for this position: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance. CPA license. Thorough understanding of US GAAP, including accounting research via the FASB ASC, relevant Big 4 accounting guides, and the variety of SEC guidance. 4+ years' experience in a technical accounting role. Experience in executing internal controls requirements. Strong analytical, oral and written skills, including experience in writing accounting memos and/or whitepapers.
Self-directed and accountable. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. The following is preferred for this position: Knowledge of SEC reporting. Individual contributor that works well on teams and with an ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
