to external clients and internal stakeholders as needed Assists with writing reports and developing presentations for clients Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Minimum Required: Master's Degree with a concentration in Biology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or related field of study 5+ years' of related laboratory experience Other Required: Experience in molecular biology, genomics or bioinformatics Ability to prioritize tasks and function in a team-oriented environment Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Must have the ability to organize and analyze data, as well as prepare reports Excellent use of judgment and discretion required Extended work hours may be occasionally necessary in order to meet business demands Ability to lift and carry between 1-15 lbs.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. overhead with assistance; frequently required to sit, grasp, and use right/left finger dexterity; May be exposed to a cold freezer environment (Freezer temperatures range between -20 -C -196 -C) Must be able to read, write, speak fluently and comprehend the English language Preferred: Ph. D. in Genomics, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Genetics or related fields Wet lab experience in the entire NGS workflow (Illumina or Ion Torrent), from library preparation to sequencing.
Experience in quantitative PCR (q PCR), digital droplet PCR (dd PCR) and Nano String is a plus. Experience in DNA and RNA extractions from a variety of sources is a plus. A solid understanding of current GLP and/or ISO/CAP/CLIA standards A combination of molecular biology wet lab and bioinformatics skills Precision is required by law in some states or cities to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. At Precision, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Project Biologist-Bats= 7 years of related experience and expertise: $72,072-$92.820 per year Associate Project Biologist-Bats = 5 years of related experience and expertise: $31.50-40.02 hour / $65,520-$84,084 per year Assistant Project Biologist-Bats= 3 years of related experience and expertise: $27.56-$35.95/ hour What you will accomplish Oversee field survey crew deployment for
bat survey projects throughout Texas and potentially neighboring states.
Develop and implement processes to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent execution of bat surveys for our client, including bat acoustic data collection. Conduct surveys and field data collection, processing, and analysis, primarily for bats, but occasionally for other wildlife natural resources. Use topographic maps, aerial photographs, GPS units, and other maps and tools to determine exact locations of project areas, habitat types, and associated landforms. Drive 4WD vehicles in rugged terrain. Conduct habitat backssments and site characterization studies. Prepare reports and study plans describing survey methodologies and results.
Assist with Endangered Species Act compliance coordination. Experience and qualifications for success Minimum of B. A. or B. S. in Biology, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or a related field Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated field experience with bat species, including study design and bat acoustic data collection, processing, and analysiinteractionperience leading multiple field survey crews Hold current USFWS permits for bat work or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire Documentation of current rabies vaccination or willing to obtain.
