This position is located in Tacoma, WA. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Design Work from Project Controls Engineers to conceptual design and device lists to create detailed project electrical documents, such as 1-line diagrams, equipment device location layouts, enclosure layouts, and device schematics using Auto CAD Electrical.
Generate project bill of materials, review with project controls engineer, and release for purchasing. Gather and categorize component specification per project to support
generation of equipment manuals. Technical Support Research parts specifications with parts department and parts vendors ensuring compatibility with equipment design.
Confer with engineering team to determine changes in design modifications and enter editing information into computer drawings for " as builds" Department Support Work with Controls Engineering Manager to create and maintain controls drafting standards. Work closely with Controls Engineering Manager and/or Control Engineer to make up design packages for transmittal to customer. Serve as liaison with shop, engineering, and other internal customers concerning drawings. Create and check drawing revisions as directed
by change orders, engineering alterations and mark-ups. Research and retrieve design files relating to specific design projection from database library to be utilized by the engineering team.
Consult and interface frequently with engineering colleagues as needed. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree or equivalent years of work experience in a designing/drafting role. Working knowledge of Auto CAD Electrical software required. Auto CAD Inventor software experience desired. Knowledge of industrial electrical standards required, such as UL508 and NEC's NFPA 70. Minimum of three years' experience in a manufacturing environment desired.
Proven experience designing the controls systems for equipment required. Ability to successfully collaborate with engineers, vendors, and customers required. Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, motion and control components required. Proven attention to detail with an emphasis on drawing specifications required. Proven track record of being self-motivated, working with minimal supervision, and leading and partnering with diverse team members required.
