We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's cloud businesses including Microsoft Azure, Bing, MSN, Office 365, One Drive, Skype, Teams and Xbox Live. The SPARC organization manages Azure's

hardware roadmap from architecture concept through production for all of Microsoft's current and future on-line services. This role is for a highly motivated Security Engineer with a background in security protocols and secure hardware design.

You will be involved with all phases of product development, from secure silicon design through manufacturing and supply chain, and into high scale deployment. At the design phase, you will work with security threat model team, and be responsible for the silicon security architecture and design of low-level hardware accelerators. The candidate should have design skills in defensive development and experience in the design of cryptographic protocols.

This job involves coding and designing security protocols. The candidate should have experience with some or all of the following: RTL development, UVM, measured boot, hardware root of trusts, cryptoanalysis, PCIe architecture and SOC internal fabrics (eg.

AXI, AHB etc. ). Understanding silicon design primitives, memory protection, scheduling, interrupts, threading. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: 7+ years of technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years of technical engineering experience OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years of technical engineering experience OR Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field 5+ years of professional experience of doing power/perf analysis of CPU, GPU or server/client platforms.

Other Requirements Cloud Background Check: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree or a Ph D in Computer Science/Engineering and/or equivalent industry experience Understanding of Accelerated Computing and Deep Learning software and hardware platforms Experience with deep neural network training, inference, and optimization in leading frameworks (e. g. Pytorch, Tensorflow)Experience with power management schemes in CPUs and GPUs Experience with Windows & Linux power management schemes Experience with CPU or GPU SOC & system architectures.

Ability to debug complex post-silicon issues. Hardware Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U. S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
