Job Description The Sr Staff Computer Systems Architect designs and defines system architecture for new or existing complex computer systems, determines systems specifications, input/output processes, and works parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security.
Additionally, the Sr Staff Computer Systems Architect coordinates the design of subsystems and integration of total system, identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies, develops and recommends corrective actions, and may provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: Designing instruction sets and commands for a massively parallel, distributed, high-performance computer system. Designing data flow pathways for moving data within a massively parallel system efficiently and reliably.
Developing detailed models of the high-performance computer system capable of accurately projecting performance. Optimizing parallel computing architectures for performance, power, and area on purpose-built machines. Analyzing and optimizing traffic patterns in complex, high performance computer networks. Working with Systems Engineering and Network Engineering teams to ensure that the architecture meets requirements and is implemented correctly. Interacting with customers, both internal and external, to convey architecture principles and concepts.
Efficiently and effectively communicating the design and architecture to digital designers for implementation, simulation, and synthesis. Basic Qualifications: Must have at least 18 years of applied experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) OR 16 Years with Associate's Degree, 14 Years with Bachelors in Science; 12 Years with Masters, 9 Years with Ph D. Must have a current active Do D Top Secret/SCI with ability to maintaining. Currently valid Security+ CE, CASP, CISSP, or similar Do D 8570 security certification required on Day 1; certification must be maintained. Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Classified Windows/Linux Domains.
Experience with VMWare implementation, migration, and maintenance. Experience with Cisco, Brocade, and Palo Alto implementation, migration, and maintenance. Experience with system design and architecture. Experience operating under and managing systems within current applicable information systems compliance standards. Deep understanding of network protocols and technologies, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze high level needs utilizing use cases/scenarios and relate them to the requirements.
Well-versed, skilled, and disciplined in system engineering processes. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP/SAR) clearance within 365 days of required paperwork submission. Preferred Qualifications : Demonstrated experience managing a wide array of senior technical engineers and managers. Demonstrated experience in technical judgment with significant impact to program success. Demonstrated experience negotiating with customers to convert program needs into testable system requirements. Experience working as part of an Agile development environment as a Product Owner or Architect.
Extensive experience developing and utilizing detailed computer architecture simulations. Experience creating detailed plans of execution and schedules for complex projects. A Bachelors, Master's, or Ph D degree in a STEM field is highly desirable. Current CISSP security certification and CCNP network certification or similar. Salary Range: $183,100 - $274,700 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
