--The Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer reports to the Mechanical Project Engineering Director. The Engineer is accountable of the design quality of the overall project, validating the mechanical engineering team implements all mechanical scope for an integrated system or sub-system. They are responsible for detailed design review, execution, and installation technical validation of the mechanical scope of
the project. --RESPONSIBILITIES: ------- Takes full ownership of the mechanical project elements and executes (and/or delegates) individual tasks throughout the project life cycle by coordinating and forecasting mechanical resources in-house and on site (may include other Mechanical Project Engineers).
------- Execution of complex materials handling system projects integrating conveyor design with corresponding technical documentation including Auto CAD Drawing and 3D modeling and system and component analysis. ------- Is familiar with proposal and estimating documentation, can read and interpret customer specifications, and apply them successfully across multiple projects. ------- The
Mechanical Project Engineer is expected to specify and order equipment for successful project implementation, and mechanically commission the system onsite for customer turnover, by working with team members and customers to solve onsite issues.
------- The Mechanical Project Engineer must also be able to provide recommendations for productivity improvements, cost reduction, and increasing customer satisfaction. ------- They take a systems approach in understanding core design features, project elements, and overall mechanical architecture and manages the scope, budget (Overrun Alerts, Change Orders), and schedule, maintaining internal and external customer expectations throughout the project life cycle.
------- They will be responsible for managing vendors and buyouts and will work cross-functionally with other disciplines as required by the project. ------- Support the customer through turnover and escalates roadblocks and ensures issues are being resolved and technical risks are mitigated. ------- Ensure project teams work in compliance with quality / safety procedures. Responsible for adherence to HSE Policy and Guidelines. ------MUST HAVE: --------- --Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering------- +10 years of experience in designing and implementing Material handling solutions--WE VALUE: --------- Track record of driving improvements to team performance though team coaching & high impact work practices------- --Extensive collaborative work with partners enabling teams to exceed expectations on work delivery and timelines------- --Ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience------- --Ability to consistently make timely decisions and balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness, even in the face of complexity------- --Solid knowledge of specific product and process technologies or broad knowledge of multiple product and process technologies------- --Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done------- --Ability to identify and troubleshoot hardware technical problems------- --Knowledge of material handling solutions and logistic market--BENEFITS: ----Benefits provided may differ by role and location.
