The Senior Project Engineer (Design Lead) is a key role at Sambatek and is a technical expert in their field. This includes commercial, stormwater, and more for project work. Primarily responsible for leading the design and development of project documents.
Work Location: Hybrid, flexible work arrangements The qualified candidate will: Serve as Engineer of Record on select projects- responsible for delivering complete and accurate design and construction documents that meet agency requirements and exceed client expectations Independently perform the necessary design tasks to prepare preliminary and final plans in accordance with Sambatek, client, and LGU standards Prepare and review of
project reports and specifications Obtain agency plan checklist requirements from Project Manager for all applications and deliver required documents Responsible for providing design guidance to production staff (Project Engineers, CAD Technicians)- work to minimize their production time and move billable work to the production team Work with Project Manager to develop and/or review project scope, budgets, and schedule- works diligently to complete work within scope, within budget, and on schedule Communicate and coordinate project work with all project team members and other departments Complete quality control plan for each project and reports any concerns and/or questions to Project Manager
Lead the construction phase communication and administration for projects, with assistance from the Project Engineer Maintain existing client relationships by providing exceptional service and quality through the development of our documents and deliverables Provide technical mentoring to developing professionals (Project Engineers/EITs) Work within a collaborative project team that promotes and fosters excellent communication, inter-departmental interaction, and respect for all project team members Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field PE License in North Carolina (or ability to obtain PE) preferred 10+ years experience in a design engineering role Proven experience leading a team of engineers Strong understanding of design engineering processes and quality control standards Working knowledge of Auto CAD Civil 3D software Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills Physical Demands and Work Environment Work is primarily performed in an office environment Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds Sambatek, LLC is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in its workforce.
