of the Infrastructure Supervisor, this position performs skilled work in the operation and maintenance of water distribution system; and wastewater collection system, including lift stations, storm water and flood control systems.

View Interviews are scheduled for January 10, 2024 Duties / Responsibilities Primary Essential Work Functions: Performs work related to the operation of the water distribution system, wastewater collection system including lift stations, storm water and flood control systems.

Performs Preventative and corrective maintenance on: Water Distribution System: water mains, hydrants, water valves, new construction Wastewater Collection System: Cleaning and TV inspecting sanitary sewer lines, manhole inspections, new construction. Sanitary Sewer Lift Stations: Inspections and cleaning Storm Water System: Catch basin, manhole structure and pipe repairs, pond and creek inspections and cleaning, new construction. Flood Control System: Flood stations, gate wells, levees, inspections, and operations Digs and works in trenches and repairs or installs water and sewer pipes.

Installs, maintains, and repairs manholes and related equipment. Paints, repairs, and services equipment and facilities. Cleans sewer lines. Installs, maintains, and repairs valves, hydrants, valve boxes, and related equipment. Performs Gopher State One Call utility tracing to locate underground water, sewer, and storm lines for the public works department, private utilities, contractors, and property owners. Assists with snow removal activities. Performs heavy manual labor. Must be available for emergency overtime work.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Knowledge of water distribution system and wastewater collection system, including lift stations, storm water, and flood control systems. Knowledge of the components and practices, and tools and materials used in utility service work. Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions necessary in the operation of a water and/or wastewater system. Ability to read meters and gauges correctly. Ability to act quickly and independently in operational emergencies. Basic computer skills.

Knowledge of basic first aid training. Ability to listen, comprehend and effectively communicate information both in writing and verbally to all individuals. Ability to recognize unsafe conditions. Ability to carry out verbal and written directives safely, effectively, and efficiently. Knowledge and skill in the operation of equipment associated with the position including, but not limited to, heavy construction equipment, such as excavators, loader backhoe, crawler dozer, and compaction equipment. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and the general public.
