Job Summary: Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking Engineering, Professional, Technical, and administrative support personnel as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy at the Y-12 National Security Complex located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and the Pantex Plant located in Amarillo, Texas.

Design and analysis will be required for items and activities in regards to buildings: whole building design for new facilities, existing building modifications, utility and process equipment support fixtures/structures platforms, walk-ways, stairs and fixed ladders, crane and hoist support systems, storage racks, various foundation systems and seismic qualification of equipment.

Construction support is also required for some projects. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in either Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis or Structural Engineering required. A Masters Degree in Engineering is preferred. Must have 5 to 10 years’ of progressive Structural Engineering experience.

Natural Phenomena Hazard Evaluation (NPH) experience, a plus. P. E. License preferred. NCEES record a plus. Working knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Manual and ASCE 8 required. Working knowledge of nuclear codes, US Army Corps of Engineers and United Facilities Criteria (UFC) a plus. Working knowledge of structural modeling programs (STADD, GT Strudl, etc. ) Experience with Math CAD and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite required. Experience with Auto CAD, Microstation and/or Revit preferred. Must be a US Citizen. Have good level of verbal and written communication skills.

DOE 'Q' Clearance Preferred. Experience with 3D modeling using Bentley software and/or Smart Plant is desirable.
