Solution Architects are responsible and accountable for the solution architecture in partnership with enterprise architects, domain architects, and engineering teams. Solution Architects partner with the delivery team for solution planning, delivery, detailed design and implemented solutions. The Ancillary Solution Architect is a key member responsible for the architecture, design, development, configuration, implementation, and testing of Costco's Ancillary programs. This role will engage in projects, working with other platform support engineers, architects, software developers, and subject matter experts in the creation of architecture, process, and governance documentation for the platform. This person is accountable for providing technical leadership within the team, including the design and implementation of a formal development, documentation, and code review processes.
This role is responsible for overseeing the overall performance and availability of the Ancillary products and services at Costco. Will provide analysis of problems while working toward solutions to technical issues; deploy new releases and/or enhancements; maintain and support the operational functions; and provide system architecture diagrams and documentation. The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for the vision and future roadmap of the Ancillary platforms at Costco. Demonstrates a keen understanding of customer needs to ensure solutions meet practical and strategic demands. Designs, develops, and ensures compliance to architectural standards throughout the lifecycle. Analyzes the Business-IT environment (run, grow, and transform the business) to detect critical deficiencies; and recommends solutions for improvement (systems of record, differentiation, and innovation). Ensures proper Monitoring practices are implemented with new solutions. REQUIRED 5+ years' experience implementing building and launching end to end products. 7+ years' large program experience leading architecture and design. 8+ years with shop industry technology. 9+ years' experience with web technologies including API's / CSS / XML / HTML / REST Web Services. Enterprise Architect role and relevant experience. Enterprise Architect certification (Togaf, IT4IT, etc.
). Working knowledge of Java Script design and development. Experience with Angular or similar Javascript frameworks. Experience with Agile, Scrum, and SDLC including Requirements Analysis, Design, Installation, Development, Testing (application code and user acceptance), and Deployment. Ability to communicate technical information in business terms. Demonstrated ability to own and resolve complex technical issues. Ability to work independently and multi-task. Ability to independently plan deliverables and coordinate with team-members. Excellent trouble-shooting skills and the ability to logically think through problem situations. Professional Information Technology experience in solutioning, designing, development, and delivering computer systems. Proven skills in leadership, relationship building, negotiation, collaboration, advocacy, governance, and consensus building.
Knowledge of IT Application architecture, Design methodologies across multiple platforms. Ability to translate technical ideas/designs to multiple audiences, including Executives. Thorough understanding of and experience with multiple SDLC methods such as waterfall, SCRUM, and/or Agile. Ability to communicate trade-offs with technical and business teams. Ability to make architecture changes in a dynamic agile environment. In depth understanding of HIPPA programs and regulations. Recommended Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years' experience in any of the following shop, Optical, Hearing aid. 5+ years' ADA compliance experience. ITIL certification. Experience developing Java Script applications using Angular.
