This position is full-time on-site in El Segundo, CA. As a Systems Architect, you will be responsible for the planning, development, validation and communication of the architecture on a pursuit, program, IRa D or other business investment and will work directly in all phases of architecture activities. Key Responsibilities: Perform Enterprise Understanding, Architecture Planning, and Mission Architecting
Plan architecture activities throughout the capture phase through collaboration with and support to the Systems Engineering Integrated Product Team Lead (SE IPTL) or Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) in the development of Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for the pursuit effort Understand the customer’s architecture needs, desired capabilities, architecture principles, and architecture context and scope Identifies and evaluates technical architecture alternatives in support of business/mission/functional architecture needs Develop a functional architecture that decomposes the business and/or mission architecture into logical constructs that can be supplied by technical solutions Define as-is and to-be architecture,
definition of systems, interfaces, and information flow Model architectures using a modeling tool such as Cameo.
Documents and communicates the selected technical architecture to the appropriate engagement teams Contribute to building and maintaining a team infrastructure to enable efficiency to include tools, templates, and contribute to the architecture repository. Traces system requirements to elements of the technical architecture Participates in requirements decomposition to ensure appropriate allocation to technical architecture elements Updates and manages the Mission/Business/Functional/Technical Architecture through the program lifecycle Provides architecture oversight and guidance for personnel on the architecture team Briefs architecture content at various internal and external forums including Design Reviews and System Architecture Review Boards Required Skills: Typically, a minimum of 10 years relatable experience.

Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems Must hold an Active (or active within past 24 months) Do D Top Secret Clearance, with prior Do D investigation no earlier than 2018. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Special Access Clearance Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a SCI clearance Strong proficiency and experience architecting Multi-Layer Security (MLS) and Cybersecurity solutions Experience in software architecture, design, development, integration, and verification Strong proficiency and experience in one or more of the following areas: Interfacing with customers, Developing CONOPS, Capture Engineering, Developing & Refining System Architecture, Developing & Refining System Requirements, Performing Functional & Physical Analyses, Performing Functional Allocation, Creating & Maintaining Models (Sys ML / Do DAF), Creating & Maintaining Specifications Experience generating, maintaining, and owning one or more of the following artifacts: System Architecture Plan, System Architecture, System Architecture Review Package, System Requirements Traceability & Verification Matrix, Architecture Summaries.
Knowledge in one or more of the following as it relates to our systems: Signal Processing (AMTI), Tracking, or Resource Management. Experience and/or ability to update and maintain code developed in: C, C++, Java, Python, CUDA, Matlab Experience with Linux/Unix/GNU/bash Desired Skills: An existing Architecture Certification.
Experience working technical solutions in capture phases Gates 0-4 (strategy through proposal). Experience developing “use cases”. Experience generating test plans and procedures. Experience with generating system use cases using Sys ML, Rhapsody, and/or Cameo. Ability to understand XML and familiar with developing, annotating, and updating XML schemas. Familiar with UML 2.0. Experience with existing architectures and standards such as Open Mission Systems (OMS), Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) and Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA). Experience in the application of OMS or UCI on an airborne weapon subsystem like Radar, EW, Communications, or Resource Management.
Experience with multiple Agile tools, including JIRA and Confluence Dev-ops experience: using makefiles and automated tools to build, link, package, deploy, integrate, and deliver software on various operating systems. Experience with CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, Cloudbees, etc. Required Education (including major): Typically, a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline. Desired Education (including major): Master’s / Ph. D. degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline.

The salary range for this role is 123,000 USD - 259,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
