diagnose, repair and maintain plumbing, electrical and mechanical components of residential appliances such as dishwashers, refrigeration units, ice machines, stove/ovens, garbage disposals and microwaves, etc. The Residential Mechanic is responsible for installing, adjusting, maintaining and repairing refrigeration systems equipment, instruments and controls and performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks on a regular and continuous basis, including plumbing, mechanical and electrical repairs for other residential equipment, appliances and furnishings.
The Residential Mechanic will perform duties using appropriate safe practices, work methods and procedures; write concise, accurate
reports; and complete log/records of work or service performed. Duties include frequently loading and unloading and installation of mechanical equipment from ground level and elevated surfaces with or without assistance.
The Residential Mechanic will interact with various department contacts and UCLA personnel while performing duties and will be required to maintain a courteous and professional manner at all times.
