Executive Vice President Primary Responsibility The persona and skillset of this individual is ideally suited to engage a client from a first touch standpoint, cultivate a relationship, and roll up his or her sleeves to deeply engage and lead a project pursuit culminating in a closed deal.
The person is equally equipped to operate on an island or lead a team and has skills to close deals across multiple market sectors. A unique skill set of this position is the ability to see what is not shown and confidently manage risk and maintain an aggressive posture to develop and close highly conceptual and complicated deals many of which are design build in nature. This position entails some business
development responsibilities but is primarily focused on deeply engaging in estimating, scheduling, and subcontractor procurement of the most meaningful and impactful opportunities in our company.
Duties & Responsibilities: Provide clients with conceptual budgets in accelerated timeframes with minimal design and project parameters. Synthesize complex plans and specifications in select bid opportunities to develop detailed and accurate estimates. Analyze and vet subcontractor proposals to ensure completeness of scope of work. Manage multiple project pursuits simultaneously by multi-tasking and prioritizing. Utilize critical path scheduling processes and software to establish accurate durations for client proposals.
Lead client interviews and meetings and the development of presentations. Follow awarded projects as necessary to support operations team – may include estimating change orders and maintaining client relations. Act with a sense of urgency and operate with the highest level of morals and ethics to support company culture. Support other pre-construction department personnel as required. Perform additional assignments at supervisor’s direction. Strengthen existing as well as build new and lasting relationships with clientele and subcontractors.
Position Requirements Knowledge, Experience & Competencies: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Architectural Engineering/Design degree, or related field Minimum of 10 years of work experience in pre-construction project management in a commercial construction environment Advanced knowledge of pre-construction and estimating techniques and strategies High level familiarity with construction contract language and ability to backss risk in language Exceptional organizational, time management, and decision-making/problem-solving skillinteractioncellent interpersonal skills with a proactive client focus Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to read and understand construction documents Ability to produce quality work in an autonomous manner in an ever-changing environment Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Sage Timberline Estimating, and Primavera Scheduling – prefer at least 5 years of experience using Sage Timberline Estimating Ability to operate basic office equipment including computer, printer, copier, fax, scanner, adding machine, telephone, and mobile phone/radio Must possess a valid, state-issued driver’s license Ability to work Monday through Friday, at least nine hours per day, five days per week generally between the hours of 7:00 a.
m. and 5:00 p. m. Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no direct supervisory responsibility. However, this position will support, mentor, and train lesser experienced employees to enhance their value in the organization. Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to meetings or events within 75-mile radius of office, 1 – 2 times per week Occasional travel to various project locations requiring an overnight stay, 12+ times per year Physical Demands of Job: Job is primarily sedentary.
