We are looking for an Engineer who is deeply knowledgeable as a Cloud Architect and with a strong focus on cloud technology and ability to articulate the cloud value proposition in both technical and financial aspects. Being a member of the Cloud Engineering Team, you'd be part of a skilled and motivated team - designing, building, maintaining, and improving the automation of reporting cloud cost and optimization opportunities across our public cloud. As a Fin Ops Staff Software Engineer, you will be an integral member of the team continuously innovating and improving our cloud financial controls and resource optimization, while helping to drive a culture of accountability across H-E-B.
What you'll do (Design & Development) Provide technical leadership and guidance around architectural best practices that help elevate Cost Optimization as a pillar of the Well-Architected Framework Influence and help achieve our enterprise cost efficiency strategy and goals across all of H-E-B Digital Create and implement actionable plans for the highest cost applications at H-E-B Digital, working with application and engineering leads to drive savings Identify areas of high influence that can be implemented centrally to increase the overall efficiency of our cloud spend Implement and manage automated tools to help identify cost trends, anomalies, and track budget (actuals vs estimates) Work with the financial teams on budget, forecast, tagging and related Fin Ops centric KPI's and SLA analytics and reporting requirements Work closely with our finance and legal departments to negotiate cost terms and contracts with hyperscaler vendors Focusing on automation & API development to build out cost reporting and optimization opportunities across the business Coaching and mentoring other engineers in techniques, architecture, processes, and new technologies; enabling others to succeed Creating documentation and training related to technology stacks and standards Who You Are Have strong infrastructure architecture experience using cloud platforms, such as AWS, GCP, Azure as well as on-premises infrastructure Have mastery of one or more programming languages (we use Python, Go, Java, and Typescript primarily) as well as frameworks and design patterns Have a passion for Fin Ops engineering and maximizing the business value of the clouds.
