watch the video below. Sheriff's Detentions Nurse is an entry/journey level professional registered nurse class allocated only to the Sheriff's Department. Incumbents independently perform the full scope of medical and mental health nursing functions within the department.
Incumbents must operate under established procedures and protocols, Standardized Nursing Procedures, and within the legal scope of practice as described by applicable state laws, department rules, regulations and policies. This class provides routine and emergency nursing services to inmates of detention facilities operated by the Sheriff's Department. Background Qualifications: Must have a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness Felony convictions will be disqualifying Misdemeanor convictions may be disqualifying depending on type, number, severity, and recency Prior to appointment candidates WILL be subject to a thorough background investigation which may include a psychological, polygraph or other examination or test Evaluation Process: Qualified applicants will be placed on a 12-month employment list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained in the employment and supplemental applications.
